On the Issues - Senior Citizens
Alderman Solis is a strong advocate for seniors and supports
several programs that promote the health, well-being and
independence of the elderly. Seniors have established and
organized the neighborhoods we now live in. They have founded
the businesses that make up our local economies. Veterans have
protected and served our country. Seniors deserve to be
recognized and honored.

Senior Housing
As Executive Director at UNO, Danny Solis was able to acquire
almost $150,000 in Chicago Department of Housing grants for
minor repairs of homes owned by senior citizens.
Senior VIP Day
Once a year, Alderman Solis sponsors senior outings to one of
Chicago’s tourist sites. Through the 25th Ward office, seniors
have visited the Chicago Conservatory, the “Lost City” and
Jackie Onasis Kennedy’s exhibits at the Chicago Field Museum.
Senior Day on the 25th Ward Summer Sundays Trolley
Seniors enjoyed a tour around the 25th Ward on the trolley
sponsored by Alderman Danny Solis. Seniors enjoyed a lunch,
tango dance lessons, and sampled appetizers and coffee from
neighborhood businesses.
Thanksgiving Day Luncheon
The 25th Ward Annual Thanksgiving Day luncheon provides seniors
with an opportunity to gather with other seniors from the
neighborhood for a traditionally catered Thanksgiving feast.
Seniors are able to watch the football game, listen to live
music and participate in a raffle.
It is my privilege and pleasure to serve and represent a group
that is particularly special to me. I am a strong advocate of
senior citizen empowerment and deeply concerned about helping
provide you safety and improve your quality of life. My staff
and I are committed to working closely with various City
agencies, such as the Department of Aging and the Comptroller’s
office, to provide you the services and programs you deserve.
As your alderman, I encourage you to contact my office and
discuss and address any issue that is important to you.
