Volunteers from the Tax Clinic and the IRS will be available to assist you.

The ITIN is a number for individuals who are not eligible to obtain a Social Security Number (SSN). The ITIN is for tax purposes only adn does not entitle the holder to Social Security benefits, nor does it change employment or immigration status under US law.

APPLICANTS NEED TWO ORIGINAL, UNEXPIRED DOCUMENTS:
One to establish foreign status and the other to verify the identity of the applicant. At least one of the documents should include a recent photograph. Only a valid, un-expired passport will be accepted by itself.

EXAMPLES OF ACCEPTABLE DOCUMENTS MAY INCLUDE THE INDIVIDUAL'S PASSPORT OR ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS WITH A RECENT PHOTOGRAPH:
- Birth Certificate
- INS documents I-94; I-20; ID; I-95A; I-184; I-185; I-186; I-144; I-586
- MICA (Mexican Border Crossing Authorization)
- National Identity card
- Drivers License or State ID
- Military Records from Own Country
- Voter's registration card from own country if it includes a photo;
- For minors, medical or school records dated within 12 months of application date

FREE TAX PREPARATION SERVICE FOR TAX YEAR 2010 WILL BE PROVIDED FOR ITIN APPLICANTS. BRING ALL W-2 AND 1099 FORM(S) PROVIDED BY YOUR EMPLOYER
