This Property Tax Appeal workshop is hosted by Alderman Solis and the Cook County Board of Review, the governing body that has the authority to review your property tax appeal if you believe your taxes are too high. This workshop is very timely, as there is a short window of opportunity to appeal runs from April 18, 2011 – May 17, 2011 for the 2010 tax year. Once May 17th passes, you are no longer able to file an appeal.

At this workshop, staff from the Cook County Board of Review will walk you through, step-by-step how to fill out the paperwork necessary to appeal your property taxes. Please bring a copy of your most recent tax bill with you, as you will have the opportunity to submit the appeal that night at the workshop.

25th Ward Alderman Danny Solis is proud to co-sponsor a screening of the film With My Own Two Wheels with Working Bikes April 22nd at the Benito Juarez High School auditorium in Pilsen. The film weaves together the stories of five individuals across the globe into a single narrative about the bicycle as a vehicle for change. The documentary was shot on location in Zambia, Ghana, India, Guatemala and California.

Alderman Solis again this year celebrates Easter at Sheridan Park for the resident's children of the 25th Ward!

This workshop will assist the managers and owners of residential properties to increase their personal level of safety and learn how to work with the police and other partners to improve the level of safety surrounding their properties.

It takes more than good police work to make our neighborhoods safer. It takes police, the community and City agencies working together to really make a difference. The CAPS partnership does not stop when the police make an arrest. To have a long-term impact on the safety of our neighborhoods, the community needs to let the offenders know that we care even after an arrest is made.

Alderman Solis will hold another job fair at Westside Technical Institute at 2800 S. Western Avenue from 9:00am - 3:00pm. There is a free parking lot adjacent to the building. Be sure to be plenty of copies of your resume, along with 2 forms of ID.
